Gared Mini Roll Around Basketball Goal Reviews: Is This Portable Hoop Worth It?
Alright, folks, gather ’round! I’ve got a little weekend project I want to share with you all. It’s about this thing called the Gared Mini Roll Around Basketball Goal. I’ve been wanting to set up a small basketball hoop in my driveway for a while now. Just for some casual shooting and maybe some light games with the kids. So, I finally decided to pull the trigger and get one of these portable hoops.
I did a little bit of digging online and found this Gared Mini-EZ model. Seemed pretty decent from what I could tell. The reviews were mostly positive, and it looked like it would fit the bill for what I needed. Plus, it’s got wheels, so I figured it would be easy to move around when I need to clear the driveway.

First things first, I ordered the thing. It arrived in a big box. Took a little bit of effort to get it inside, I must say. Then came the fun part – assembly. Now, I’m no handyman, but I can follow instructions. The instructions were okay. But it took me longer than I’d like to admit to get everything put together. There were a lot of parts, and some of the steps were a bit tricky, and I felt like I needed an extra pair of hands at times. Maybe I’m just getting old.
-
First, I laid out all the pieces and made sure everything was there. Nothing worse than getting halfway through and realizing you’re missing a crucial bolt or something.
-
Then, I started with the base. Filled it with water. That was a bit of a workout in itself.
-
After that, I attached the pole and then the backboard. The backboard is 32” x 54, acrylic and looks pretty good.
-
Finally, I put on the rim, a single rim breakaway goal, and the net. It is fully padded with high density polyurethane foam covered with non.
Once it was all assembled, I wheeled it out to the driveway, which was pretty easy thanks to its four large casters. It stands pretty tall and feels quite sturdy. I took a few shots, and it felt pretty good. The rim is solid, and the backboard has a decent rebound. I’m looking forward to using it more, but the weather hasn’t been very cooperative lately.
All in all, it was a successful project, I suppose. It took a bit of time and effort, but now I’ve got a nice little basketball hoop in my driveway. I can shoot some hoops whenever I want, and the kids are already having a blast with it. It’s perfect for our needs, and I think it’ll get a lot of use in the coming months. This highly portable system rolls easily on large casters and locks in place. It is great use for all ages and skill levels and budget friendly. And also, it is perfect for side court practice and multipurpose recreational areas.
If you’re thinking about getting a portable basketball hoop, I’d say go for it. Just be prepared to spend a little bit of time putting it together. And maybe have a friend or family member on hand to help out. It’s definitely worth it in the end!

If you ask me whether I will recommend it or not, I would say I do. It is easy to move and set up.
Recommendation: Yes!
That’s it for my little basketball hoop adventure. Hope you all found it somewhat interesting or helpful. Until next time, take care, everyone!
