MIT Basketball News: Whats the Latest on the Teams Wins and Losses?
Man, today I want to talk about something that’s been on my mind lately – MIT basketball. I mean, who would’ve thought, right? MIT, the brainiac central, has a basketball team, and they’re not just there to fill a quota. They’re actually pretty darn good!
So, I got this wild idea a while back to check out one of their games. I packed my bag, grabbed my camera, and headed out to the court, not really knowing what to expect. I thought I might see a bunch of nerdy guys tripping over their shoelaces, but boy, was I wrong!

The moment I stepped into the gym, the energy hit me. These guys were intense! They were running drills, their sneakers squeaking on the court, and you could just feel the passion in the air. And they were tall, like, really tall! I felt like a little kid standing among them. I started snapping pictures, trying to capture the vibe of the place.
I got to see them play a game against Framingham State, and let me tell you, it was a sight to behold. They absolutely crushed it, winning 92-72. And this senior player, Ian Hinkley, he was a beast! He scored 26 points that game, shooting 76 percent from the field in the first half. I was like, “Who is this guy, and why isn’t he in the NBA?” I snapped a bunch of pictures of him in action, his focus and determination were incredible.
They Are No.1
Then, a few weeks later, on February 4th, I went to another game, this time against Coast Guard. It was a nail-biter, a real close one, but MIT pulled through with an 86-83 win. This sophomore, Isaac Dobie, he was on fire! He scored 22 points and even had six steals. And this other guy, Parker Spann, he had a double-double. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, snapping pictures like crazy.
It got me thinking, these guys are not just smart, they’re athletes. They’re balancing rigorous academics with a demanding sports schedule, and they’re doing it at the highest level. They are ranked No. 1 in the country in Division III, the largest Division III program in the nation. I mean, that’s insane! I have so much respect for them.

My little adventure into the world of MIT basketball really opened my eyes. It’s not just about the brains or the brawn, it’s about the dedication, the hard work, and the passion these guys bring to the court. And it is about the 33 varsity sports that they have. I’m definitely going to keep following their games and maybe even try to interview some of the players. I want to know their stories, how they do it all. Stay tuned, folks, this is just the beginning of my MIT basketball journey!
